They focus on getting people on the water safely so they have fun, and promote policies that protect America&#8217;s recreational waterways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bask.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bay Area Sea Kayakers<\/a> \u2013 live throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Their interests include flat-water paddling, kayak-surfing, expeditions and playing amongst the rocks in conditions that range from mild to wild. They maintain an exceptional website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oopskayak.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oregon Ocean Paddling Society<\/a> (a.k.a. \u201cOOPS\u201d) \u2013 their goal is to be Portland&#8217;s premier sea kayaking club. Members are passionate about paddling, and offer high quality trips and classes to all levels of paddlers. OOPS maintains an excellent website and its Resource pages contain a wealth of information. Check it out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.qajaqusa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Qajaq USA<\/a> \u2013 is the American Chapter of Qaannat Kattuffiat &#8211; the Greenland Kayak Association. They are committed to supporting Qaannat Kattuffiat and their efforts to preserve, study and promote the traditions and techniques of Greenland kayaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sdkc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">San Diego Kayak Club<\/a> \u2013 loves paddling and wants to share their experience with paddlers at every skill level. They are mostly sea kayakers, but many have branched out to kayak surfing, stand up paddle boarding and whitewater paddling; extensive website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ShastaPaddlers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Shasta Paddlers<\/a> \u2013 enjoy kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding and anything else that travels on the water under human power. They paddle Whiskeytown Lake and the Sacramento River, and host a number of events throughout the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonkayakclub.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Washington Kayak Club<\/a> \u2013 is dedicated to preserving Washington&#8217;s waterways. The WKC participates in local conservation and access issues. The club is both a river and sea kayaking association, and its website has lots of useful information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.westernseakayakers.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Western Sea Kayakers<\/a> \u2013 live in the Bay Area, mostly around the southern part of the peninsula.
