The popularity of Stand Up Paddling is growing. Some of the reasons are ease of transport, relatively fast learning curve, being ideal for a variety of athletic types and proximity to water......something Humboldt County certainly has, and it’s FUN!

Join Larry and Mike for a fun filled day of learning the basics of Stand Up Paddling. Class runs from 9-11:30 with plenty of beach time for conversation, snacks and sharing equipment all to further your knowledge of stand up paddling.
Please bring (or borrow) your board, life jacket, farmer john, etc. or they may be rented from Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center (707) 826-3357.

"The Paddling Film Festival has been showcasing the very best paddling films since 2006. Be inspired to explore rivers, lakes and oceans, push extremes, appreciate wild places and fully embrace the paddling lifestyle. Join us at a World Tour theatre screening then, go paddling. We’re pretty sure you’ll want to.

We will be gathering for a community paddle at the Chetco River boat launch at 10am on May 4th. Bring your favorite paddle craft to meet some new paddle buddies and enjoy an easy morning paddle on a beautiful river."

Join us for a Maple Creek Paddle in Big Lagoon, Saturday, May 11, launching at 9:30 AM.  We will follow the shore then north to under the Hwy 101 bridge, to the extent of Maple Creek that is navigable.  We will return to the launch area about 12 PM to mitigate confronting afternoon winds. 

This paddle is appropriate for anyone who has confidently wet exited their craft, has a personal flotation device (PDF - Life Jacket), dry suit, wet suit, or synthetic clothing.  No cotton.  The current water temperature is 51 degrees.  It'll be an  enjoyable Spring paddle.  It's time to get back out on the water!
